About
Dr. Wagner Loyola is an accomplished microbiologist and immunologist with a robust academic and research background. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Biomedicine (1987), a master’s degree (2001), and a doctorate (2007) in Microbiology from the State University of Londrina, Brazil. With extensive experience in immunology, Dr. Loyola has served as a professor at the State University of Northern Paraná, where he contributed to the academic development of future biomedical professionals.
Currently, he is a researcher at Embrapa Swine and Poultry (Embrapa Suínos e Aves) in Concórdia, Santa Catarina, Brazil, where his work focuses on advancing microbiological and immunological studies in animal health and food safety. He has played an integral role in supporting research that enhances disease prevention and control in livestock, contributing to both national and international scientific communities.
Dr. Loyola has also served as an external advisor (ad hoc) for extension projects at the State University of Londrina, showcasing his dedication to academic outreach and public health impact. His contributions to microbiology and immunology reflect a strong commitment to scientific excellence and innovation in agricultural and biomedical research.
Research Interest
Dr. Wagner Loyola has experience in Immunology, with emphasis in Cellular Immunology, working mainly in the following subjects: macrophages, concanavalin a, public health, animal health, neutrophils and phagocytic cells.
