Pub Scholars

Journal Terms and Conditions

APPLICABILITY OF THE AGREEMENT:

To ensure that the international journal of medical research and surgery aspires to select, through peer review, the highest quality science, PubScholars Group follows important ethical principles and decisions, which are seldom explicitly stated and even less often shared with the readership. Here we summarize the comprehensive policy on publication ethics, which addresses all the major areas of ethics we believe contemporary science journals should consider.

Ethical Guidelines for Authors

PubScholars Group expects that authors present accurate, original, and objective research in the form of manuscripts. Authors are expected to preserve the raw data and any other valuable information related to the research. The editorial board may review the raw data about the manuscript under publication consideration. Authors are expected to cite properly the publications that have been influential in determining the nature of the reported work. Authors are advised not to publish the same manuscripts in more than one journal at the same time. Submitting the same manuscript to more than one journal or publication will be considered unethical. Such behavior is convicting and unacceptable. It is the responsibility of the authors to promptly notify editors about errors and cooperate with them to withdraw or correct the submitted manuscript.

Author Guidelines

PubScholars Group publishes articles in all areas related to Medical Research and Surgery on a Biannual basis. Submissions are single-blind and peer-reviewed by members of the Editorial Review Board. First, the journal editor reviews papers for appropriateness and uses a plagiarism verification tool to ensure the work has not been plagiarized.

Submission of a manuscript to PubScholars Group directly implies that all authors have read and agreed to the journal’s guidelines. Manuscripts are provided with the understanding that they are sent solely to PubScholars Group and that none of the content in the paper has been previously published elsewhere, except abstracts.

PubScholars Group, an international English-language, open-access online and print journal, will consider for publication original articles, short communications, case reports, letters to the editor, editorials, and mini-reviews.

Ethical Guidelines for Editors

Editors play an important role in scholarly publishing. PubScholars Group accepts prominent personalities in various research fields who can carry out their responsibilities with dedication to improve the quality of the journal. Editors are accountable for evaluating the quality quotient of the articles submitted for publication. Editors should ensure that articles are evaluated according to journal guidelines and constructive feedback is provided to authors to enhance the quality of the articles.

Editors are expected not to disclose any information about a submitted manuscript to anyone other than the corresponding author(s), reviewers, and other concerned members of the editorial board. Editors should ensure that they complete the review process within the stipulated time so that manuscripts are processed and reach the publication stage on a fast-track basis. Consistency in publication will also enforce a feeling of trust among authors.

Guidelines to be followed

  1. The primary responsibility of an editor is to manage the peer review of manuscripts by reviewers, taking full responsibility and authority to accept, request major/minor corrections, or reject a submitted paper for publication.
  2. Based on the field of research or subject, the editor will assign submitted manuscripts to a reviewer for the peer review process.
  3. Editors should ideally consider at least two reviewers’ comments on a paper to make a decision and may confer with other editors or the editor-in-chief.
  4. Editors should give unbiased consideration to all manuscripts offered for publication, judging each on its relevance to the journal’s remit, originality, and scientific merits without regard to personal interest, race, religious belief, ethnic origin, citizenship, or political philosophy of the author(s).
  5. Editors should actively seek the views of authors, readers, reviewers, and other editorial board members about ways of improving their journal’s processes to attract high-quality submissions.
  6. Editors should monitor the performance of peer reviewers and justify any important deviations from the described peer review process.
  7. Editors should write an editorial every six months based on current research trends in the journal’s field.
  8. Editors can suggest appropriate journals for authors if the article is not within the scope of the journal.

Duties of Peer Reviewers

  1. Confidentiality: Reviewers should not share any information from an assigned manuscript with outsiders without the prior permission of the editor.
  2. Competence: Reviewers with adequate expertise should complete the review. If expertise is inadequate, reviewers should feel responsible and decline the review.
  3. Constructive Assessment: Reviewers’ comments should appreciate positive aspects of the work, identify negative aspects constructively, and indicate enhancements needed. They should ensure observations or arguments are accompanied by relevant citations and immediately alert the editor of duplicate publication.
  4. Impartiality and Integrity: Reviewers’ decisions should solely depend on scientific merit, relevance, and scope of the journal, free of financial, racial, or ethnic biases.
  5. Disclosure of Conflict of Interest: Reviewers should minimize conflicts of interest and notify the editor of any conflicts.
  6. Timeliness and Responsiveness: Reviewers should provide timely comments and respond promptly to queries raised by the editor.
