About
Ana Cláudia Coelho holds a PhD in Veterinary Sciences (2006), a Master’s degree in Health Promotion and Health Education (2001), and a degree in Veterinary Medicine (1997), all from the University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro (UTAD). She is an Associate Professor with Habilitation at the Department of Veterinary Sciences at UTAD, where she teaches Microbiology, Infectious Diseases, Public Health, and Epidemiology. Throughout her career, she has contributed to 17 research projects and authored 107 publications indexed in ISI or Scopus, along with 20 book chapters and numerous abstracts presented at national and international conferences. She has supervised 8 doctoral theses, over 120 master’s dissertations, and 70 undergraduate theses; she is currently supervising 6 doctoral theses. Ana Cláudia Coelho has received 7 awards and honors. Her main research interests focus on emerging and re-emerging zoonoses within the One Health approach, as well as mycology, mycobacteriology, infection control, and biosafety. From 2013 to 2014, she served as President of the Biosafety Nucleus for the Integrated Master’s in Veterinary Medicine at UTAD. From October 2017 to April 2020, she was Chair of the UTAD Biosafety Commission. Since 2021, she has been a member of the UTAD Ethics Committee and Vice-President of the Scientific Council of the School of Agricultural and Veterinary Sciences. Additionally, she has been a Diplomate of the European College of Veterinary Microbiology since 2019.
