About

Dr. Nawar Jasim Alsalih is a distinguished microbiologist and veterinarian with extensive expertise in infectious diseases, immunology, and virology. He began his professional journey after graduating from the College of Veterinary Medicine, University of Baghdad, in 2004. He initially worked at the Veterinary Hospital in Babil Governorate, actively participating in vaccination and treatment campaigns.

In 2008, Dr. Alsalih completed his Master of Science in Microbiology at the University of Baghdad, focusing his thesis on the combined effects of antifungal agents and plant extracts against dermatophytes. Following this, he served as a lecturer assistant at the University of Al-Muthanna, delivering courses in bacteriology, virology, and diagnostic microbiology.

Since 2014, Dr. Alsalih has been pursuing his PhD in Microbiology at RUDN University in Moscow, with research centered on the epidemiology of hepatitis viruses among labor migrants to Russia. His work has contributed to a deeper understanding of viral transmission in migrant populations, and he has authored multiple publications in the fields of viral hepatitis, respiratory and gastrointestinal infections, and zoonotic diseases. Dr. Alsalih’s research and academic contributions have positioned him as a respected expert in the field of medical microbiology and public health.

Research Interest

Dr. Nawar Jasim Alsalih’s research focuses on medical microbiology, with expertise in viral hepatitis (B, C, E), especially among migrant populations. He also studies zoonotic diseases in animals, antimicrobial plant extracts, and pediatric infections. His work bridges human and veterinary medicine, contributing to global health and infectious disease control.  with particular emphasis on virology, immunology, and public health.
