Neuroimmunology and Neurological Infections
Neuroimmunology is a branch of therapy that examines complex interactions between the nervous system and the immune system. This plays an important role in understanding how immune reactions can affect the progression of neurological disorders. The region helps to highlight the immune system behind conditions such as multiple sclerosis, autoimmune encephalitis and other neurodegenerative diseases.
Neurological infections are caused by many different pathogens that infect the central and peripheral nervous system. Neurological infections can cause severe inflammation, tissue damage and long term neurological complications. Understanding their pathophysiology is key to developing therapies and prevention strategies.
Key Topics:
- Neuroinflammation
- Autoimmune Neurological Disorders
- Blood-Brain Barrier Dysfunction
- CNS Viral and Bacterial Infections
- Fungal and Parasitic Neurological Infections
- Neuroimmune Modulation
- Emerging Infectious Diseases of the Brain
This session is calling for neurologists, immunologists, infectious disease specialists and neuroscientists to review the latest in neuroimmunological research and clinical care of neurological infections. Let’s develop collaborative strategies for early diagnosis, treatment and better patient outcomes.
