Abnormalities of the Brain

Abnormalities of the Brain address structural and functional deviations in regions of the brain – such as frontal, temporal, parietal lobe, cerebellum, brainstem, basal ganglia, and limbic systems – stemming from trauma, infection, genetic causes or environmental effects. These changes can range from subtle loss to serious cognitive, emotional or physical disabilities that affect personal and social functioning. For example, the dysfunction of the frontal lobe can disrupt the problem and disrupt decisions, leading to conditions such as OCD or bipolar disorder; Issues of temporal lobe can reduce memory or understanding of language; Sensory disorientation may occur as a result of the lateral lobe deficit; Cerebellar damage can cause coordination problems; Loss of brainstem can obstruct breathing or swallowing; And limbic systems abnormalities can affect emotional regulation and increase depression or aggression. This session shows how problems in different parts of the brain can lead to many kinds of difficulties, from small issues to serious conditions, all of which affect a person’s overall health and daily life.
