The anterior cerebral circulation describes the system of arteries that bring oxygen -rich blood to the front and top parts of the brain. It begins with internal carotid arteries, which are mainly divided into anterior cerebral artery (ACA) and middle cerebral artery (MCA). The ACA supplies blood to the internal surface of the brain – especially the average area of the frontal and top parietal lobe – which controls foot speed, high thinking and personality. These arteries are connected through a circular network called Circle of Willis, which ensures backup blood flow if a path is blocked. It is important to understand this circulation because obstacles can cause specific types of strokes, which may affect mobility, speech, or behavior where interruption occurs.
