Behavioral Neuroscience
Behavioral neuroscience in the scientific field explains how the brain and nervous system controls human thoughts, emotion and behavior. It is a branch of psychology and biology that aims to learn about the biological origin of behavior. Scientists in this field investigate how neurons talk to each other, regulating the brain areas such as hippocampus and amygdala memory and emotion, and how to affect hormone stress, aggression and social attachment. Behavior neurology also examines the effects of genes and environment on behavior and why humans differ in personality and mental illness. It is useful in explaining diseases like depression, anxiety, schizophrenia and alcohol as it is related to chemistry and structural changes in the brain. Treatment in behavior neurology also leads to implications, recovery from brain damage, and drugs affecting the nervous system. Overall, behavior combines neurological behavior and biology and tells us why we behave in some different ways.
