Brain Malformations
Brain Malformations examines structural issues in the brain that occur before birth. These can disrupt development and lead to physical disabilities, learning challenges, seizures, or neurological problems. While many reasons are unknown, some deformities are associated with genetic mutation or environmental factors during pregnancy. Doctors usually use brain imaging such as ultrasound, MRI or CT scan to diagnose these conditions. Depending on type and severity, treatment options may include surgery to correct structure, medication or special diets to manage symptoms, or therapies to support movement and cognition. Prenatal care is also necessary – regular checkups and genetic testing can help in early detection of risks. This session explains that finding brain malformations early and using different treatment methods can help improve the health and future of affected individuals.
