Counseling psychology

Counseling psychology focuses on providing people supportive, customer-focused care to help people manage the challenges of life. This involves assessing mental health through equipment such as interviews, standardized testing and personality assessment to understand a person’s psychological needs. Counselors then work with clients and create treatment plans using approaches to determine treatment plans and set personal goals and use approaches such as talk therapy, cognitive behavior therapy (CBT) and mindfulness techniques. This field supports people dealing with issues such as depression, anxiety, ADHD, trauma, grief, problems of relationship or workplace stress. Counselors help clients develop strategies, flexibility and healthy habits to improve overall welfare. Training for this profession usually requires a minimum master’s degree with appropriate license. Overall, counseling psychology plays an important role in promoting mental health and personal development.
