Developmental neuroscience
Developmental neuroscience checks how the brain develops from the embryonic phase through adulthood, focusing on how neural structures and circuits shape behavior. It integrates insight from neuroanatomy, molecular biology, psychology and behavior to understand the remarkable plasticity of the developing nervous system, especially environmental effects. Researchers use methods such as genetics, microscopy, electrophysiology, behavior studies, and live imaging, which play a feeling, learning and emotions to detect processes such as nerve connectivity, gene expression and circuit formation. The session also emphasizes the importance of these studies in understanding conditions such as autism, ADHD and dementia. By combining fundamental biology with clinical application, developmental neurology provides the path for new therapeutic strategies that can improve brain health throughout life.
