Geriatric Psychiatry and Neurology
Geriatric Psychiatry: A medical psychotherapy, also known as an old age geropsychiatry or psychiatry of old age, is a branch of psychiatry focused on the mental health of older adults. This includes treatment, diagnosis, prevention and treatment of conditions such as depression, anxiety, dementia and other mental disorders that usually affect elderly people.
Geriatric neurology is a medical field related to brain and nerve disorders in older adults. It focuses on conditions such as Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, stroke and memory problems, which aims to improve the health of the brain and the quality of life of elderly patients.
