Neurological Illness

Neurological illness covers health disorders that affect the nervous system – the brain, spinal cord, and nerves. The disorders range from mild to severe and may result from genetics, environment, injuries or illness. Stroke, for instance, results when a blood vessel in the brain is blocked or ruptured, resulting in abrupt signs and symptoms such as weakness, difficulty speaking, facial muscles, confusion, numbness, or impaired walking. With prompt treatment and rehabilitation, recovery is frequently possible. Epilepsy is another common disorder, in which the seizures are triggered by factors like lack of sleep or flashing lights; Many can handle them adequately with drugs or with surgery. Parkinson’s disease affects movement, bringing shock, stiffness, balance issues, and walking issues – though it is not curable, it can be treated to ease symptoms. Multiple sclerosis consists of inflammation of nerves which causes vision problems, tingling, balance problems and pain. Early diagnosis and treatment hold the greatest promise for improved outcomes.
