Neuronal processing mechanisms
The neuronal processing mechanisms are basic processes by which the brain and nervous system handle information. The three most important processes are stimulation, prohibition and plasticity. The excitement enables neurons to set fire and send signals across synapses, allowing brain areas to communicate with each other. Inhibition acts as a balancing force, prevents too much activity and protects the brain against overstimulation or seizures. Plasticity refers to the brilliant brain’s ability to strengthen, weaken or create new connections between neurons, which is important for learning, memory and rehabilitation after damage. Collectively, these processes guarantee general cognitive activity, emotional control and behavioral regulation. It is important to know them for developing treatment for neurological diseases such as epilepsy, depression, schizophrenia and neurodegenerative diseases.
