Parkinsons disease

Parkinson’s disease (PD) is a long-term brain disorder that is largely related to movement. It develops when some brain nerve cells lose their function or are destroyed, especially those responsible for making a chemical called dopamine. Dopamine helps in controlling smooth, steady body movements. When the brain receives less dopamine, an individual will start to shake, walk slowly, be rigid, or experience difficulties with balance and walking. Fatigue, depression, disturbed sleep, and speech and handwriting changes are also some of the symptoms. Parkinson’s will worsen, but the rate and the type of the symptoms will differ from individual to individual. Even if there is no cure yet, medication, physical therapy, and in some cases surgery (e.g., deep brain stimulation) can alleviate symptoms and improve living. Improved treatments and greater understanding of PD’s cause are looked for by researchers. Early treatment and management enable individuals with Parkinson’s to live active and meaningful lives
