Regional Cerebral Blood Flow (rCBF) Conference

Home/ Scientific Sessions /Regional Cerebral Blood Flow (rCBF) Conference

Regional cerebral blood flow (RCBF) refers to the amount of blood reaching specific areas of the brain. This is an important way to understand how the brain works. Scans such as pets and spectres measure RCBF and reveal physical changes – for example, which are active during brain field memory, language, meditation or movement functions. High blood flow often indicates active brain areas, while low flow may indicate stroke or tumor -like conditions. On the other hand, abnormally elevated flow inflammation, unusual tissue or seized activity may indicate. It is also important to track RCBF to guide the decisions of treatment – such as promoting blood flow to the affected areas for Alzheimer’s care or identifying recovery goals after stroke. Overall, RCBF is a powerful tool for assessing brain function and improving neurological care
