The Visuo-Motor Control Session explains how our brain and sensory systems have worked together to guide the movement through vision. This important process connects input from the eyes, muscles and proprioception, enabling humans to perform actions ranging from simple daily tasks to very efficient activities ranging from sports or surgery. Researchers of this session highlight the underlying neurological routes that add perception to coordinated action, highlighting how the vision helps to adjust movements in real time. Understanding Visuo-Motor control also provides insight into disorders where coordination is impaired, such as stroke, Parkinson’s disease, or development conditions. By checking both normal and disrupted processes, the session emphasizes the role of advanced equipment, including strategies and neuroimaging and virtual reality, to improve motor functions.
