This is a specialized field that focuses on the unique healthcare needs of young people between the ages of 10 and 19. It's a time of significant physical, emotional, and social change, and adolescent nurses play a vital role in supporting young people through these transitions. 

This has broad specialty that focuses on providing care to adults across the lifespan, from young adulthood to older adulthood. It encompasses a wide range of health conditions and care settings. 

The advanced nursing is differentiated from other types by a registered nurses' expertise in applying highly to complex, unfamiliar and unpredictable situations. They have strong theoretical and practical knowledge to deal with the complex situations.

This is a specialized area of nursing that focuses on the care of individuals with allergic conditions and immunologic disorders. Allergy nurses practice in diverse settings, such as hospitals and clinics, as well as in research centres and schools.  

Ambulatory care nursing is a nursing specialty that deals with care provision to those patients who don't require an overnight hospital stay. 

 

Gerontological nursing is the nursing specialty, which is aimed at caring for older adults. 

Military nursing is a healthcare specialty that concerns itself with the provision of medical care to active-duty military personnel, veterans, and their families. Military nurses are registered nurses (RNs) who work in a variety of settings like military hospitals, military clinics, military bases, field hospitals, and combat zones. 

Nursing ethics are the set of moral values that guide the nurse's practice and ensure the delivery of quality health care. 

This is the providing of nursing care to patients, families, groups, and communities. It could be including actions such as, Care, Advocacy, Delegation, Professional conduct.

Psychiatric nursing, more appropriately known as mental health nursing, is specific type of nursing practice regarding taking care of people suffering from mental health disorders. 

Public health nursing is a specialty of nursing that aims to enhance and protect the health of populations. It is community-oriented practice and uses knowledge in nursing, social, and public health sciences. The purpose of public health nursing is to prevent disease and disability for all people. 

Telephone triage nursing is the process in which a nurse applies the use of the phone in the following conditions- 

  • Assesses the nature and degree of priority for a patient's health care.
  • Select an appropriate plan of care.
  • Communicate with the patient or caregiver.
  • Ensure that patient symptoms are safely, promptly, and appropriately managed.

Transcultural nursing is the ability of a nurse to incorporate a patient's cultural background beliefs and values, religion, lifestyle, and family history into medical care. 

Cardiovascular nursing is a subspecialty area of nursing focused on providing care to patients with heart and vascular diseases. 

Community health nursing integrates practice from nursing and public health with the goal of promotion and protection in populations' health. Community health nursing focuses more on geographic locations rather than those individuals with the same characteristics. 

It involves specialized nursing practice with a client having serious medical conditions. An example is one who has undergone great surgery, or the client facing severe injuries, or a critical disease threatening to take the life of such a patient. 

Dental nursing ensures that the needed care and attention are provided by the dentists. The primary work of the dental nurses lies in working with collaboration of the dentist to facilitate support throughout the visit from the patient. Further, they enlighten people with oral health. 

Environmental health nursing is considered to be a style of nursing that aims at improving the health status of populations by reduction of negative environmental aspects causing human infections. 

Family nursing is one such kind of nursing practice. The main concept behind family nursing is to improve the health conditions of families as well as family members at any age. This approach considers a family as a system and targets relationships between different members of that family. 

These are specialized areas of critical care nursing in which professionals are expected to provide medical attentions to clients within aircraft during flight. Thus, the primary duty of any registered nurse specializing in this domain is working directly with a pilot and sometimes an additional paramedic upon call. 

Forensic nursing can be defined as the art of nursing that integrates the science of nursing combined with legal issues such as care delivered to a victim, documentation, collection, and preservation of evidence, medical forensic exams, cooperating with law enforcement, social workers, medical professionals, and public health agencies. 

It is the specialty practice of nursing that deals with the betterment of the health and well-being of the elderly. Geriatric nurses are also known as gerontological nurses, who practice in diverse settings such as hospitals, nursing homes, hospices, and home healthcare services. 

Newborn nursing is a specialized field of nursing that provides care for newborn infants, with a focus on promoting healthy outcomes and preventing adverse outcomes, Neonatal nurses care for infants who are born premature, sick, or have other medical conditions or critical illnesses. 

Nursing education refers to formal learning and training in the science of nursing. This includes the functions and duties in the physical care of patients, and a combination of different disciplines that both accelerates the patient's return to health and helps maintain it.
